Writing skills

From my own experience I can say that producing a written text is a task which requires a lot of practice, a good command of written language and the presence of skills specific to writing (including the ability to organize ideas or to follow the conventions of the genre).
I suppose all of you have ever struggled with writing an essay , composing a letter or a CV  and you can imagine how much more difficult the writing process  can  be for children whose experience in writing is mastering their name  and whose vocabulary is limited to phrase "My name is...".
Writing,  for sure, is a skill that   has to be practiced over time. One of the possibilities is blogging, texting and social network  interaction.  According to the National Literary Trust "engagement with online technology drives their enthusiasm for writing  short stories, letters, song lyrics or diaries".
How is the process of writing? Many teachers divide  it into 3 stages :
Stage I Generation of ideas. When writing first of all we have to think about what to include in the  text. The best way to do it is brainstorming  different ideas.
Stage II. Production of text. We organize different ideas into paragraphs focusing on style, cohesion and coherence.
Stage III Revision. Finally it is necessary to revise the text for grammatical errors.
When teaching writing it is considerable to provide the students with the model of writing. This is very important step in teaching writing. Little by little we guide student to independent writing. Our task is to show students how to write and to encourage them to continue writing in the future.
